This riverfront beauty has been fully renovated with a welcoming modern aesthetic and features five bedrooms that host their own designated full bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with dining area, luxurious living space, several lounge areas through the home, wine bar, stone veranda that overlooks the river, and so much more!
The Evans Inn at Historic King Mansion is exclusively only available to rent for clients who have a celebration booked at Historic King Mansion. The full property is available to rent in packages of two night or three night stays. For our special wedding couples, the stone veranda and first floor can be available to use for an intimate rehearsal dinner or day-after wedding brunch.

History of Evans Inn
“2233 N. Front Street was built in 1925 for lawyer Berne H. Evans, of the Harrisburg law firm, of Hause, Baker, and Evans and was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm of Willing, Sims and Talbutt. This stone-constructed, picturesque home of the ‘Norman’ architectural style is a noted contribution of NN. Front Street’s collection of historic mansions. It has been thoroughly restored by Kristine and Alex Hartzler including a well-executed creation of its front yard landscaping and veranda where an architecturally inappropriate 1960’s addition to the house recently stood.
This demolition revealed the house’s full facade fenestration and grandeur that had been hidden for decades resulting in not just the home’s original in-tact appearance, but also the return of single-family occupancy to what historically was Harrisburg’s prime residential street. It is for the amazing and totally appropriate architectural transformation that has earned the Hartzler home a 2017 Historic Harrisburg Association Preservation Award.” – Historic Harrisburg
