Comcast was proudly welcomed for their 2018 Spotlight event at Historic King Mansion. Making this the first large-scale event at the all new exclusive venue, clients of Comcast would be thanked for their dedication to such a driven company.
On October 4, 2018, roughly 150 guests were in store for a special circus theme reception filled with surprises throughout the evening.
A Carnival Theme
Decked out in black and silver swirl linens, the front lawn of the Historic King Mansion would become an upscale carnival for one night only. Carnival stripes coloring a 30 foot tall tent would hold the evening’s activities for clients of Comcast.
Orchestrated by The JDK Group, this corporate event just goes to show that a work party can be both fun and exciting.
Imagining the Venue
During the daylight hours, the Historic King Mansion’s main attractions were located in the front of the property. Guests had a choice of dining or socializing outside with beautiful views of the waterfront. Just through the main doors of the mansion was a “red carpet” style backdrop for photographs and costumes.
As the night began, the entire venue was bright with red lighting focused on the concrete details of the Historic King Mansion. Private fencing and a breathtaking walkway through the front lawn would lead guests to the structural beams and main piazza of the building.
With visual stunts occurring to the left and right sides of the main walkway, Comcast visitors could enter the mansion. From here, those attending could climb the venue’s grand staircase to catch a glimpse of the event from the mansion balcony.
Visual Performers
Together, visual performers including aerial acts, stilt walkers, fire dancers, LED hoops, fire breathers, and razor blade jugglers packed the evening with action for all.
Additionally, a Palm and Lip Reader were available for guests to hear about their future.
Event Setup and Layout
Guests approaching the event would immediately see black and white parasol umbrellas from the front lawn. There, round cocktail tables were available for guests to enjoy talking amongst other coworkers inside the large tent.
If interested, visitors could relax within the lounge area of the mansion or remain outside with the performers and live DJ.
JDK Catering
The food for the Comcast Spotlight event revolved around gourmet pasta, coffee, and delicious dessert stations. However, throughout the night, servers passed hors d’oeuvres around including Mini Chicken and Waffle Cones, Carnival Sliders, Miniature Corn Dogs, and Tangerine Cotton Candy.
For the main meal, The JDK Group set up a “Light My Fire” station. Visitors could watch the JDK culinary team utilize torches to finish full choice cuts of beef and herbed chicken. Topped off with grilled marinated local vegetables and penne pasta, guests would not leave hungry.
Finally, dessert tables featured popcorn with exciting flavors. Comcast clients had the option of chocolate salted caramel, cookies and cream, or strawberry shortcake flavored popcorn!
A Special Thanks
Event planners and those working for the venue would like to thank Comcast for partnering behind Historic King Mansion’s first large-scale event. This Spotlight ceremony usually happens every other year, so we couldn’t think of a better way to utilize our exclusive venue than with a celebration like this.
