Evans Inn is a large, comfortable historic home designed for gathering and settling in. What might begin as a single occasion naturally unfolds into something more relaxed and memorable here.
The stone veranda and first floor of the home provide an ideal setting for rehearsal dinners, brunches, and a variety of gatherings.
Evans Inn, nestled at 2233 N. Front Street, was meticulously crafted in 1925 for Berne H. Evans, a prominent lawyer from Harrisburg. Designed by the esteemed Philadelphia architectural firm of Willing, Sims, and Talbutt, this stone-constructed, picturesque home set the standard for homes across Harrisburg.
But less than 100 years later, owners had started washing away the historic charm. Under the careful restoration, Evans Inn saw a revival that unveiled its hidden grandeur. The removal of a 1960s addition restored the home's original facade, reclaiming its stature as a single-family residence on Harrisburg's historic N. Front Street. This restoration returned the home to its initial glory and earned Evans Inn the esteemed 2017 Historic Harrisburg Association Preservation Award.
Whether you stay in the Mansion Suites or at Evans Inn, you’ll find a setting designed for comfort, ease, and a more relaxed way to experience your time in Harrisburg, PA.
